What to Expect During Your Workplace Training
Our program aims to help organizations empower their teams with essential, life-saving skills. We’re committed to making sure as many individuals as possible know how to respond to medical emergencies—confidently and effectively. Each class is structured to help participants gain knowledge and practical experience in CPR, AED use, first aid, and bloodborne pathogens response, tailored to their experience level.
In the initial training, students are introduced to core lifesaving techniques for the first time. In renewal courses, more experienced participants are challenged with scenario-based exercises that deepen their understanding and sharpen their response skills. Across all formats, students gain hands-on practice that mirrors real emergencies, helping them develop the confidence to act under pressure.
This training is appropriate for individuals across various industries and backgrounds. From healthcare professionals already familiar with emergency care to warehouse teams, school staff, or office workers seeking to enhance workplace safety, our First Aid program equips everyone with the ability to step in and save a life when it matters most.
Our Classes
Our First Aid instructors are fully certified by the Health & Safety Institute (HSI) and authorized to teach First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens courses. Each instructor brings extensive experience and training expertise to the classroom, ensuring every participant receives instruction grounded in real-life scenarios and proven techniques.
We uphold specific student-to-instructor ratios to provide the best learning experience. The recommended ratio is 6:1 during hands-on sessions to give each student individual attention. We allow up to a 24:1 ratio for lecture-based instruction and limit performance evaluations to a 2:1 ratio to ensure accurate assessment of each student’s technique and understanding.
We also follow careful standards for student-to-equipment ratios to guarantee practical learning. Ideally, four students share one set of equipment, though we allow up to six per set. Each course includes access to real-world equipment for practice, such as:
- CPR manikins
- AED trainers
- Clean gauze and trauma dressings
- PPE (including gloves, masks, and eye protection)
This setup ensures students observe—and actively participate—in every skill taught, helping them develop strong, repeatable habits they can rely on during an emergency.
OSHA-Compliant First Aid Certifications
To receive First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification, students must complete the training course, successfully demonstrate core emergency response techniques, and pass a hands-on skills evaluation. Those who meet these requirements are awarded an official HSI certification card that includes the course completion date and verifies their achievement.
Even if a student does not pass the final assessment, every participant can receive a Recognition of Participation document, acknowledging their effort and participation in the training.
HSI First Aid certification is valid for two years. To maintain certified status, participants must enroll in a renewal course and pass another performance evaluation before their certification expires. This ensures that skills remain sharp and aligned with current emergency response practices.
The value of an up-to-date First Aid certification extends beyond compliance—it gives your team peace of mind. Whether responding to a cardiac emergency, managing a severe wound, or addressing workplace exposure to bloodborne pathogens, certified individuals know they’re equipped to act decisively, responsibly, and effectively.
